Job Description


Optomi, in partnership with a leading client is seeking a Cloud and Container Engineer to support the design, deployment, and operation of cloud-native applications in AWS. In this role, you'll partner with development teams to build scalable, secure infrastructure, manage Kubernetes workloads, automate deployments, and improve the reliability of production environments. This role is fully remote EST OR CST Time.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and support production workloads in AWS.
  • Manage and maintain Kubernetes environments (Amazon EKS preferred).
  • Partner with development teams to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Helm, and ArgoCD.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments using CloudWatch, Elastic, or similar observability tools.
  • Contribute to cloud architecture, operational standards, documentation, and best practices.


Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and supporting production workloads in AWS.
  • Experience managing Kubernetes environments, preferably Amazon EKS (AKS/GKE also acceptable).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized applications.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or similar).
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
