Senior Automation Specialist - Remote

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Automations Specialist based in Canada.

This remote opportunity is designed for a systems-focused professional who enjoys building automation solutions, optimizing workflows, and improving operational efficiency through technology. You will help connect digital tools, data, and teams by designing scalable systems that reduce manual processes and support business growth. The role combines low-code/no-code development, process improvement, documentation, and technical problem-solving across multiple platforms. You will work with modern productivity tools to create seamless workflows, improve data visibility, and enhance operational performance. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, curious, and passionate about using technology to simplify complex business processes.

Accountabilities

As an Automations Specialist, you will play a key role in designing and implementing digital systems that improve productivity, streamline operations, and enable scalable workflows. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining integrated systems across platforms such as Notion, Smartsheet, AppSheet, and Google Workspace.
• Developing automated workflows using low-code/no-code solutions, including AppSheet logic, workflow connectors, and internal integrations.
• Creating, maintaining, and improving SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to document processes, workflows, and technical instructions.
• Managing and optimizing data flows across CRM, project management, inventory, and reporting systems.
• Integrating marketing and operational platforms by connecting websites, CRM systems, quoting tools, and communication solutions.
• Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Providing user training and support through documentation, screen recordings, guides, and other learning resources.
• Collaborating with teams to understand operational challenges and deliver practical technology solutions.
• Continuously improving existing systems, workflows, and automation strategies based on business needs.
  
  

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a technically curious and detail-oriented professional with experience building automation systems and improving digital workflows. You should bring:

• Proven experience with low-code/no-code automation platforms such as AppSheet, Zapier, Make (Integromat), or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of systems design, data management, workflow optimization, and process improvement.
• Experience working with productivity and business tools such as Notion, Smartsheet, Xero, Google Workspace, and related platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to technical details.
• Ability to understand complex processes and transform them into efficient automated solutions.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and deliver results independently in a remote environment.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working with evolving business requirements.
