Job Description


One of the country's largest financial technology companies is searching for a Senior Data Scientist to join their CRM and lifecycle marketing team 100% remotely (PST Hours). In this role, you will partner directly with marketing stakeholders to define and measure key business metrics, uncover performance opportunities, and drive meaningful impact on customer engagement, retention, and business results. This exciting opportunity to support a best-in-class CRM and lifecycle marketing program begins as an 11-month W2 contract based 100% remotely within the PST time zone. The position offers competitive benefits and the strong potential for extension or conversion beyond the initial contract duration.

Responsibilities

  • Partner daily with marketing stakeholders to define, track, and communicate key business and campaign performance metrics
  • Conduct business analysis using statistical methods, predictive modeling, explanatory analysis, and data mining techniques
  • Develop actionable insights and best practice recommendations to improve current business operations
  • Produce ad hoc data analyses and reports to support ongoing and emerging business needs
  • Work directly with internal clients to identify and scope analytical requirements
  • Design and maintain user-friendly, automated dashboards for marketing stakeholders using tools like Qlik Sense
  • Measure, analyze, and optimize CRM campaigns across channels including email, push notifications, SMS, and in-app messaging
  • Support A/B and multivariate testing efforts to evaluate messaging, timing, segmentation, and overall campaign effectiveness
  • Apply funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and customer journey analytics to identify engagement and retention opportunities
  • Translate complex data findings into clear narratives and recommendations for non-technical audiences
  • Assist in building or improving systems used to capture and process business operation data
  • Identify repetitive reporting workflows and support automation using AI-enabled tools or workflow platforms
  • Ensure AI-generated outputs are reviewed for accuracy and alignment with business requirements
  • Occasionally provide guidance and support to less experienced analysts on the team


Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field;
  • ***Marketing experience is required to succeed in this role! Candidates be able to work closely with CRM and Lifecyle marketing teams, so an understating of these KPIs, metrics, and other reports is critical.***
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries to extract, join, and transform data from relational databases
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using data visualization platforms such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline tools such as Superglue, Alteryx, Informatica, dbt, or Airflow
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods including A/B testing, regression analysis, and forecasting
  • Working knowledge of CRM strategy, customer lifecycle stages, retention tactics, and lifecycle campaign optimization
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Braze and experience integrating customer data for reporting and analytics purposes
  • Experience with audience segmentation, customer targeting, personalization strategies, and dynamic content
  • Ability to connect CRM program performance to broader business outcomes including revenue, retention, and customer lifetime value
  • Strong grasp of marketing KPIs such as open rate, CTR, CTOR, conversion rate, churn, LTV, and engagement metrics
  • Experience defining and maintaining standardized KPI frameworks and reporting structures
  • Understanding of AI agent workflows and prompt engineering principles as applied to data analysis and reporting automation
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to present data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative working style with experience partnering across marketing, finance, and data engineering teams
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, curiosity-driven approach to identifying trends and opportunities


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Marketing Analytics
  • Proficiency in Python or R for advanced analysis and workflow automation
