Job Description

We’re partnering with an early-stage AI and robotics company building technology that is transforming how global manufacturers inspect their production lines.

This isn’t a business searching for product-market fit. Following a $4m seed round, the company has already secured a $10m backlog of customer orders from Fortune 500 manufacturers, creating a clear route to significant revenue growth.

Its technology is being deployed in live manufacturing environments around the world, including an upcoming installation in Norway. This is an opportunity to see real technology come to life and know that the software you build is making a visible impact on factory floors.

The opportunity

You’ll join a team of seven full-time engineers and work closely with embedded, machine learning and hardware engineers to scale a proven product globally.

You’ll help build the edge software responsible for moving high-throughput image data, running machine learning inference and keeping systems operating reliably in complex customer environments.

This isn’t a role for someone looking to coast. You’ll be joining a small, ambitious team where you’ll have significant autonomy, solve difficult real-world problems and directly influence the product.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building reliable embedded and edge software for AI-powered inspection systems
  • Streaming high-throughput image data through edge GPUs
  • Deploying and running machine learning inference services in production
  • Improving the reliability, observability and recoverability of systems operating 24/7
  • Developing deployment and configuration tools that allow the platform to scale globally
  • Working closely with machine learning and hardware engineers
  • Troubleshooting challenges across different customer networks and manufacturing environments
  • Occasionally visiting customer sites and using those learnings to improve the product

What we’re looking for

  • Experience building embedded or edge software using Python and C++
  • Experience deploying software onto edge devices in real production environments
  • Knowledge of Linux, networking, data streaming and containerized services
  • An understanding of the reliability challenges involved in unattended production systems
  • A practical, hands-on approach to solving problems
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where your contribution will be highly visible

Experience with NVIDIA GPUs, machine vision, ML inference, industrial technology, robotics or manufacturing systems would be beneficial but isn’t essential.

We’re more interested in what you’ve built and deployed than where you studied.

Why join?

  • Proven product-market fit with a $10m customer backlog
  • Strong revenue potential with customer demand already established
  • Technology being used by Fortune 500 manufacturers globally
  • The opportunity to see real technology come to life
  • Significant autonomy and influence within a small engineering team
  • Early-stage equity and the chance to grow alongside the company
  • Work across embedded software, AI, hardware and advanced manufacturing

The role is based on-site in Pittsburgh five days per week. Relocation assistance is available, and occasional customer travel—typically one or two trips per quarter—will be required.
