Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Security Manager based in Spain.

As a Security Manager, you will take ownership of the security strategy, operations, and governance framework for a fast-growing global technology organization. You will lead security initiatives across monitoring, incident response, cloud protection, application security, and risk management while ensuring security practices scale alongside business growth. Working closely with engineering, compliance, and leadership teams, you will design practical solutions that protect customers, data, and critical business operations without creating unnecessary barriers to innovation. This remote role offers the opportunity to build and mature a security function, influence company-wide security culture, and shape long-term cybersecurity strategy in a dynamic fintech environment.

Accountabilities

  • Define and execute the short- and long-term security strategy, including the technology, processes, and capabilities required to support organizational growth.
  • Lead and develop a team of security professionals responsible for security operations, monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence.
  • Own the security governance framework, including policies, standards, controls, and security maturity improvements.
  • Partner with engineering teams to implement effective application, infrastructure, cloud, and endpoint security practices.
  • Build and improve security monitoring, detection, response, and incident management capabilities.
  • Manage third-party security risks through vendor assessments, security reviews, and ongoing risk management processes.
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure security controls meet regulatory expectations and business requirements.
  • Promote security awareness across the organization by developing training initiatives and encouraging strong security practices.
  • Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to measure security performance, identify improvements, and communicate risks and progress to leadership.
  • Act as a strategic security advisor, helping teams balance strong protection with seamless user and business experiences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading security teams within technology companies, high-growth organizations, or similarly agile environments.
  • Broad expertise across multiple security domains, including security operations, cloud security, application security, infrastructure security, and governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Experience designing and managing incident response processes, security monitoring programs, and threat intelligence capabilities.
  • Strong technical understanding of securing cloud environments, including platforms such as AWS, as well as modern workplace endpoints.
  • Experience creating security policies, standards, and controls that are practical, scalable, and adopted across organizations.
  • Experience collaborating with risk, compliance, and regulatory teams in security-sensitive or regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.
  • Ability to work independently, define strategic direction, and execute security initiatives in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or business-to-business technology environments is considered a strong advantage.

Benefits

  • Fully remote working opportunity across Europe.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
  • Equity opportunities so employees can share in the success they help create.
  • Generous parental leave policies for primary and secondary caregivers.
  • Up to 60 days per year to work remotely from another location.
  • Opportunity to build and scale a security function with significant ownership and strategic impact.
  • Collaborative international environment with talented teams across multiple regions.
  • Strong opportunities for professional growth toward broader security leadership roles.
