Accountabilities
The Manager, Engineering - AI and Data Team Manager will be responsible for driving the technical strategy, execution, and growth of AI and data initiatives while leading a high-performing engineering team. This role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong people leadership to deliver secure, scalable, and impactful solutions.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for AI, machine learning, and data systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and product requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists and ML engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of AI and ML solutions, including architecture, development, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
- Guide the creation of scalable data pipelines, model training processes, and AI-powered applications that improve security operations and analyst productivity.
- Drive the integration of generative AI technologies, including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation architectures, and secure AI workflows.
- Architect and optimize large-scale data platforms capable of securely processing complex datasets across high-performance environments.
- Partner with infrastructure, product, and security teams to ensure AI workloads meet requirements for reliability, compliance, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Establish strong MLOps practices, including CI/CD workflows, model evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and system observability.
- Oversee API design and integrations that enable efficient interaction between AI systems, internal platforms, and automated workflows.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert, translating complex cybersecurity challenges into innovative AI-driven solutions.

The ideal candidate is an experienced AI and data engineering leader with a strong background in machine learning systems, software architecture, and team management. They should have the ability to combine technical execution with strategic leadership in complex, security-focused environments.
- 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning engineering, or data engineering, including 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
- Strong understanding of LLM technologies, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, MLOps practices, and secure AI system integration.
- Extensive experience with Python, AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Batch, Glue, Bedrock, Step Functions, and Redshift, along with modern ML frameworks.
- Proven experience building and deploying end-to-end machine learning pipelines from data ingestion through production monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, scalable data systems, and secure solutions for multi-tenant or regulated environments.
- Experience designing and managing high-performance data pipelines and AI-powered applications.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with cybersecurity, vulnerability research, bug bounty platforms, or offensive security workflows is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with compliance-focused environments such as FedRAMP or SOC 2 is a plus.
- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline is preferred.
