Senior Engineer / Engineer -โ Multi-Robot Software & Simulation
(85K Euro to 96K Euro depending on experience - Role is Abu Dhabi based so relocation required | Advanced Robotics R&D
We are recruiting a Senior Engineer and a Engineer level Multi-Robot Software engineer to join a high-calibre robotics research team developing coordinated autonomous systems across air, land and marine platforms.
These are hands-on engineering roles for someone who can take research concepts, prototype algorithms and mathematical models and turn them into reliable, scalable software that performs on real robotic systems.
You will play a key role in shaping the software architecture, middleware and simulation framework used to test and deploy multi-robot capabilities.
The role
- Design scalable software architectures for multi-robot systems
- Develop robust production-level software in C++ and Python
- Build and maintain high-fidelity robotics simulation environments
- Improve the transition from simulation into physical deployment
- Develop and scale middleware within the ROS2 ecosystem
- Analyse telemetry, field data and system behaviour
- Troubleshoot software, communications and integration issues
- Support physical testing across aerial, ground and marine platforms
- Work closely with researchers, controls engineers and systems teams
What we are looking for

- Masterโs degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Control Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong modern C++ and/or Python development experience
- Advanced knowledge of robotics simulation tools such as Gazebo
- Proven experience moving robotics software from simulation to hardware
- Strong ROS2 and middleware development experience
- Background in multi-agent or multi-robot systems
- Comfortable taking full ownership from development through to field testing
Useful additional experience
- PX4, ArduPilot, Nav2 or MOOS-IvP
- Docker, CI/CD and robotics software deployment
- Physical robot integration and field trials
- Communications constraints, latency and intermittent connectivity
- WiFi mesh, LoRa or related communication technologies

Hiring process
