Job Description

We are partnering with a defense tech company building next-generation products and we are looking for a versatile Edge Hardware / Firmware Engineer to own the mixed-signal boards and compute path for our imaging and sensor system.

You will design, bring up, and optimize GPU SoM-based hardware and firmware that ingests high-speed sensor data and runs low-latency inference in a demanding environment. This is a hands-on role spanning schematic to flight hardware in a small, AI-native team that moves fast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and bring up mixed-signal boards centered on GPU SoMs (NVIDIA Jetson/Orin or equivalent) high-speed image sensor interfaces, low-noise analog, power architecture, and system IO
  • Implement end-to-end high-speed sensor interfaces (MIPI CSI-2, LVDS, SerDes, etc.) with zero-copy DMA into GPU memory
  • Develop CUDA/TensorRT pipelines and low-latency firmware/drivers (Rust & Python preferred)
  • Execute schematic capture, PCB layout, bench bring-up, debug, and qualification
  • Optimize power delivery, signal integrity, and timing for low-jitter, real-time performance
  • Bake in DFM/DFT and manufacturability from day one

Requirements:

  • 4–6+ years of mixed-signal hardware and firmware bring-up experience
  • Strong background in high-speed digital, low-noise analog, and power conversion
  • Hands-on high-speed image sensor interface experience (non-negotiable)
  • Production CUDA/TensorRT experience on Jetson-class SoMs
  • Proficiency with schematic/PCB tools (Altium, KiCad, etc.) and bench tools (scope, logic analyzer)
  • Comfort with Rust/Python for firmware and tooling
  • AI-native workflow (daily use of agentic coding tools)

Bonus: Defense/aerospace qualification (MIL-STD-461/810), carrier board design, or heterogeneous compute experience.

This is an on-site role in California with relocation support available.
