Job Description

Company Description

Job Pivotry is an AI-powered career transition platform built for people who know they need a change but aren't sure how to pivot into a new role. The platform turns complex career switches into structured, actionable plans that respect each person's existing background and transferable skills — analyzing a resume to surface personalized pivot options, including higher-earning paths, bridge roles, and immediately accessible opportunities. It then activates a full toolkit around the chosen target role: tailored resumes, cover letters, interview prep, salary research, and skill-building resources.

Job Pivotry is a product of **Deeper Apps LLC**, a software studio built on the premise that every business can be run like a trading strategy. Our founder spent years building trading models, pricing systems, and automation workflows in New York's high-frequency trading world before bringing that same discipline to software and business strategy — analyze the data, build a systematic strategy, execute it, and let a continuous feedback loop drive the next iteration. We built this internship around that same idea: teaching people to think like a quant about market research and career data specifically. This is a learning-first program — you're here to build a real skill set under direct mentorship, not to fill a staffing gap.

Role Description

The Marketing Research Intern is a remote, unpaid, educational internship where you'll be trained in market and user research, and in how to approach research the way a quant approaches a trading strategy — form a hypothesis, gather the data, test it, and refine based on what you find. You'll learn to:

- Conduct market and competitor research, and analyze user behavior and trends to help identify new segments and opportunities for Job Pivotry's services

- Design and run quantitative and qualitative research initiatives — surveys, interview guides, and structured data collection — under guided supervision

- Synthesize findings into clear insights and practice preparing reports and presentations for the marketing and product teams

- Monitor key performance metrics and learn how to read them as signal, not noise

- Collaborate with the team to think through messaging and positioning, and learn how evidence-based testing shapes those decisions

- Get hands-on exposure to how marketing campaigns are tested and evaluated, and practice suggesting improvements grounded in data and user feedback

This is designed as a training ground, closely supervised and mentored throughout — you'll be learning alongside doing, not working independently to produce deliverables.

Qualifications

- Genuine curiosity about market research — familiarity with research design, data gathering, or interpreting findings is a plus

- Interest in analytical and quantitative thinking; we'll help you build these skills further

- Effective communication skills and willingness to present findings and receive feedback — this is a coaching-heavy program

- Comfort with spreadsheets or basic analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, survey platforms), and strong attention to detail

- Comfortable working remotely with structure and self-organization

- Curiosity about careers, labor markets, HR tech, or AI-driven products

- Relevant coursework in marketing, business, psychology, economics, data science, or related field is a plus; prior academic or internship research experience is helpful but not required

What You'll Gain

This is an unpaid, educational internship — here's what you get in return:

- Direct, hands-on mentorship from Deeper Apps LLC's founder, a former quantitative trader and high-finance analyst, learning a systematic approach to research and strategy you can apply to any analytical career path

- 1:1 career coaching — resume building, interview prep, and career strategy guidance, whether you're aiming for research, marketing, tech, or elsewhere

- Access to the founder's professional network, including potential introductions to companies he's worked with, based on your interests

- Fully remote, flexible around your schedule

This internship is unpaid and structured as an educational program, sponsored by Deeper Apps LLC. There is no guarantee of future paid employment.
