Accountabilities
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering automation solutions that strengthen software reliability throughout the development lifecycle. You will partner with technical teams to identify risks, improve testing strategies, and build scalable quality practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and microservice testing environments.
- Create production-quality automated test solutions using programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# and frameworks including Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, or Pact.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD testing pipelines using platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Implement contract testing approaches to validate service interactions within distributed systems.
- Build performance testing solutions using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust, including load modeling and results analysis.
- Apply security testing practices, including dependency scanning, SAST, DAST, and OWASP-based validation.
- Lead discussions around test strategy, risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and shift-left quality practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to identify quality risks early and improve development workflows.
- Analyze production issues, perform root-cause investigations, and create automated regression coverage.
- Improve test coverage, reliability, and feedback cycles through continuous optimization.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote strong engineering standards across testing initiatives.
- Maintain documentation, reporting dashboards, reusable testing tools, and automation libraries.

The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering expertise, hands-on automation experience, and the ability to work collaboratively in complex technical environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience as an SDET, automation engineer, or in software engineering roles focused on quality.
- Strong programming experience in at least one language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Hands-on experience with UI automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience automating REST and/or gRPC APIs.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into delivery workflows.
- Strong SQL skills and experience validating database-driven applications.
- Understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and modern web architectures.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong debugging, communication, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Experience with contract testing tools such as Pact or Spring Cloud Contract is a plus.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust is preferred.
- Exposure to security testing tools including OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or Snyk is beneficial.
- Knowledge of chaos engineering, resilience testing, or QA certifications such as ISTQB is a plus.
