Job Description
Title: Cisco Network Engineer (only W2 Position – No C2C Accepted)
Description: STG is a SEI CMMi Level 5 company with several Fortune 500 and State Government clients. STG has an opening for Cisco Network Engineer.
Please note that this project assignment is with our own direct clients. We do not go through any vendors. STG only does business with direct end clients. This is expected to be a long-term position. STG will provide immigration and permanent residency sponsorship assistance to those candidates who need it.
Position Description:
Infrastructure Engineer – Network Operations Team
This role is focused on infrastructure engineering rather than traditional network engineering. The team manages all aspects of the network infrastructure environment, including software-defined networking, control plane components, wireless technologies, and enterprise network operations.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience with:
- Cisco SD-LAN
- Cisco Catalyst Center
- Cisco ACI
- Cisco EPIC/enterprise networking technologies
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and wireless networking solutions.
- Strong Layer 3 routing experience, including:
- OSPF
- IS-IS
- LISP
- Solid understanding of Layer 2 networking, including VLANs and trunking.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise network environments.
- Cisco infrastructure background required.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Level 3 escalation resource for complex network and infrastructure issues.
- Lead incident, change, and configuration management activities.
- Restore services during outages and troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems.
- Serve as the primary technical resource while on-call and provide guidance to multiple levels of help desk support.
- Partner with Engineering, IT, and Manufacturing teams to execute infrastructure refreshes and deployments.
- Assist with technical implementation of new technologies, including EV and wireless initiatives.
- Support advanced networking environments and future technology integrations, including Cisco and Palo Alto solutions.
Preferred Skills
- Network automation experience.
- Ability to identify repetitive/manual tasks and automate them through scripting.
- Experience writing scripts and supporting API development efforts.
- Active technical certifications (Cisco or related networking certifications) are highly preferred.

Education Required:
