Your Profile & DNA:
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Docker container engineering, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and CI/CD platforms to modernize our Azure DevOps build platform.
Roles & Responsibilities
Build Platform Modernization
- Review and assess the current portfolio of Docker images used by the Azure DevOps build platform.
- Identify unnecessary dependencies, duplicate layers, cached artifacts, outdated tooling, and optimization opportunities.
- Design a scalable and maintainable image strategy for Azure DevOps self-hosted build agents.
- Standardize Docker image architecture, lifecycle management, versioning, and governance.
- Establish best practices for image creation, maintenance, patching, and security.
Container Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain optimized Docker images for enterprise CI/CD workloads.
- Create purpose-built build agent images instead of large, generic images.
- Optimize image build time, pull time, startup time, and runtime efficiency.
- Reduce image size while maintaining functionality and security.
- Improve maintainability through modular image design and reusable components.
Platform Engineering
- Support the migration from traditional build agents to AKS-hosted Azure DevOps self-hosted agents.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Security teams to improve the build infrastructure.
- Implement automation for image builds, testing, publishing, and lifecycle management.
- Improve developer experience through reliable and efficient build infrastructure.

Security & Governance
- Implement secure container image practices across the build platform.
- Integrate image vulnerability scanning into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Establish Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) generation and image governance.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and supply-chain security standards.
- Define patching strategies and base image update processes.
Qualification & Experience
- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Build Engineer, or Container Platform Engineer.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining Docker images for production environments.
- Experience with Azure DevOps self-hosted build agents.
- Experience supporting enterprise CI/CD platforms.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes-based build infrastructure.
- Experience implementing secure and scalable container platforms.
- Experience optimizing Docker image performance and maintainability.
