Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, and AWS database environments

Perform database installations, upgrades, migrations, patching, and ongoing maintenance

Monitor database health, capacity, availability, and performance

Optimise SQL queries, indexing, execution plans, and overall database performance

Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, replication, connectivity, and data integrity issues

Administer and support AWS database services, including Amazon RDS

Support cloud migrations and hybrid database environments

Implement security best practices across cloud-hosted databases

Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies

Conduct regular restoration testing and disaster recovery exercises

Support replication, clustering, failover, and high-availability solutions

Maintain Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)

Implement database security, encryption, auditing, and access controls

Manage database permissions, privileged access, and vulnerability remediation

Support compliance with security and governance frameworks such as ISO 27001

Improve data quality, governance, retention, and lifecycle management

Support databases underpinning enterprise business applications and reporting platforms

Optimise database performance to improve reporting and analytics

Assist with data migrations, integrations, and application upgrades

Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and availability across enterprise systems
