Overall Purpose:
The job holder is responsible in ensuring that the organisation’s resilience by developing comprehensive disaster recovery (DR) plans, as well as managing the lifecycle of incidents to minimise disruption to business operations, thus playing a crucial role in guaranteeing our organisation's preparedness for disruptive events and efficient response to IT incidents.

Key Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for:
Â
- Contributing to the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of comprehensive DR plans for all critical IT systems and applications covering various failure scenarios.
- Participating in risk assessments and impact analysis to identify potential threats and prioritise recovery efforts.
- Working together with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure DR plans align with overall business continuity objectives, including the definition of recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
- Compiling and maintaining disaster recovery and incident response documentation, including runbooks and playbooks.
- Conducting regular DR testing exercises to identify weaknesses and continuously improve recovery processes.
- Assisting in the preparation and holding of training and awareness programmes for staff on disaster recovery procedures and incident response procedures and best practices.
- Coordinating the incident management response for high priority IT disruptions, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business impact.
- Assessing low priority incidents to identify recurring trends that could indicate potentially more serious but yet undetected issue.
- Supporting root cause analysis to identify underlying problems and implement preventative measures to minimise future occurrences.
- Contributing to the development of up-to-date incident response documentation, including procedures and escalation protocols.
- Collaborating with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordinated response during incidents.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation to promote awareness and understanding of DR and IM procedures and championing the importance of disaster preparedness and business continuity within the organisation.
- Participating in conferences and training to stay at the forefront of DR and IM best practices.
- Staying abreast with industry trends and emerging technologies/threats to identify and suggest improvements to the organisation’s DR and IM programmes.

This position requires the readiness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call responsibilities on a roster basis with rest of the team.

Previous proven work experience of three (3) years in an IT enterprise environment AND an MQF level 5 Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related area.

Previous hand-on experience utilising disaster recovery and incident management tools and technologies.
Certifications in Disaster Recovery (e.g. EDRP) and Incident Management (e.g. ITIL), MQF Level 4 qualification in Pure Mathematics.
