ABOUT THE ROLE


Careerscape is supporting a client opening for a Remote Entry-Level Junior Systems Administrator. This role focuses on maintaining computer systems, supporting end users, managing user accounts, monitoring system performance, assisting with network administration, and ensuring reliable day-to-day IT operations in a fully remote environment.

The Junior Systems Administrator will work closely with IT teams, department managers, and internal employees to configure devices, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain documentation, support Microsoft 365 environments, and help ensure business systems remain secure and operational.

COMPENSATION


The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience, technical skills, communication skills, organizational abilities, and client hiring needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO


* Maintain and monitor Windows-based systems and cloud services

* Create, update, and manage user accounts and permissions

* Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software

* Respond to IT support requests and resolve technical issues

* Monitor system performance and identify potential problems

* Perform routine software updates and system maintenance

* Assist with network administration and connectivity troubleshooting

* Maintain IT documentation and system inventories

* Perform routine system backups and recovery support

* Collaborate with internal teams on technology projects

* Help maintain system security and access controls

* Perform additional systems administration and technical support duties as assigned


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR


* High school diploma or equivalent required

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred

* 0–2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, systems administration, technical support, or related roles

* Strong organizational and time management skills

* Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and basic networking concepts

* Ability to work independently in a remote environment

* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

* Professional, dependable, and security-focused mindset


NICE TO HAVE


* CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification

* Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

* Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID

* Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and remote desktop tools

* Experience with ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira

* Interest in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations
