Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 6-8 years.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to manage and drive the roadmap for our AS400 application landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and prioritizing the product backlog, translating business needs into actionable requirements, and ensuring the successful delivery and continuous improvement of AS400 applications.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the AS400 application product backlog.
  • Gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements based on business value and strategic objectives.
  • Define clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements for development teams.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with AS400 engineering teams, SAP teams, vendors, and leadership to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and prioritization activities.
  • Provide day-to-day functional leadership and direction to AS400 engineering teams.
  • Ensure stable operation, support, and continuous improvement of the AS400 application landscape.
  • Balance business priorities, technical constraints, and operational requirements when making product decisions.
  • Monitor product delivery, risks, dependencies, and overall progress.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and Agile best practices.
  • Facilitate communication across technical and business teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Support production issue prioritization and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.
  • Track product performance and ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations.


Qualification & Experience

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar product management role.
  • Strong experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs in Agile environments.
  • Experience working with AS400 (IBM i) applications and business processes.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum ceremonies and backlog management.
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including development, business, SAP, and external vendors.
  • Ability to prioritize competing business demands and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
