Job Description
About HiO
HiO is an AI Business Partner for small and medium business owners- helping them grow their business through every customer conversation, acting as a proactive partner that surfaces opportunities and flags what actually needs the owner's attention. We've raised a $16M seed round backed by investors behind OpenAI and Anthropic, alongside Wix.We're a high-talent, fast-moving team, and we're just getting started.
Why this role exists
Small business owners are some of the most capable operators anywhere. What they don't have is time, and they've never had a true partner in the work: someone who knows their customers, spots what's changing, and acts on it. AI finally makes that partner possible, and building it well is a genuine product craft problem. How autonomous should it be? When does it act, when does it ask? How does trust get earned, interaction by interaction?
Those are the questions you'll help solve.
As our Senior Growth Marketing Lead, you'll own the growth engine end-to-end, from paid acquisition and lifecycle marketing to activation, experimentation, analytics, and AI-powered marketing operations. This is a hands-on builder role for someone who enjoys creating systems from scratch, moving quickly, and partnering closely with Product and Engineering.
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Preferred Location: Florida (FL)
While this is a fully remote role, candidates based in Florida are preferred.

What they own
- Paid media: strategy, channel selection, budget allocation, campaign build, and optimization across paid social and search- Full ownership from planning through performance reporting.
- Channel experimentation: not limited to the channels listed above - expected to identify, pitch, and test new or unconventional channels as opportunities arise, and kill what doesn't work fast.
- Lifecycle & retention marketing: onboarding flows, activation campaigns, re-engagement, and win-back sequences (Customer.io). Owns the strategy and iteration, not just execution.
- Growth analytics: funnel instrumentation and reporting (PostHog, GA4). Tracks CAC, LTV, conversion by plan tier, and activation metrics. Surfaces insights and recommends where to invest next.
- Website conversion optimization: landing pages, signup/trial flow, on-site A/B testing.
- Free-to-paid conversion & activation: owns the free-to-paid funnel across plan tiers in partnership with Product. Identifying the "aha moment," reducing time-to-value, and driving trial/freemium users toward upgrade.
- Onboarding optimization: Onboarding flow iteration to get new users to first value faster, in coordination with Product.
- Upgrade & expansion: owns campaigns and in-product prompts that move users up plan tiers as usage grows.
- Referral: builds and owns referral mechanics to drive user-driven acquisition.
- Experimentation: runs structured A/B tests across paid, lifecycle, on-site, and in-product; builds a testing cadence from scratch.
- Marketing automation & AI ops: builds and maintains the AI/automation layer of the growth engine. Think automated reporting, AI-assisted creative testing, agentic workflows for campaign management and iteration.
- Cross-functional work with Product and Engineering: partners directly with Product and Engineering - comfortable operating without a dedicated growth engineer.
- Agentic by default: use AI agents to draft, analyze, monitor, and execute. Spend your time on judgment and strategy, not production.
