This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Platform Engineer based in Canada.

This is a high-impact engineering role for a versatile professional who thrives on solving complex, cross-functional challenges.

You will act as a force multiplier across the platform, tackling the most important technical problems wherever they appear.

The position offers the opportunity to work across backend, infrastructure, tooling, and product areas while improving reliability and developer experience.

Accountabilities

The Platform Engineer will operate as a technical generalist, identifying and solving high-value engineering challenges across the platform. This role requires strong ownership, adaptability, and the ability to deliver solutions that improve product performance, infrastructure reliability, and team productivity.

  • Tackle the highest-impact technical challenges across the platform based on evolving business and engineering priorities.
  • Build and ship solutions across the technology stack, including backend systems, infrastructure, developer tooling, and occasionally frontend components.
  • Develop tools, improvements, and fixes that help engineering teams work more efficiently.
  • Own complex, cross-functional technical problems that require collaboration across multiple areas.
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, and overall developer experience.
  • Identify opportunities for technical improvements and proactively drive solutions from idea to implementation.
  • Work independently while collaborating with teams to deliver meaningful product and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a strong engineering generalist with experience building and maintaining complex systems. This role requires someone comfortable with fast-paced environments, technical ambiguity, and owning projects from discovery through delivery.

  • 4+ years of experience in full-stack engineering, platform engineering, or related software development roles.
  • Strong experience working across multiple areas of a technical stack.
  • Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and solve complex technical problems.
  • Experience designing, building, and improving scalable software systems.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently identify priorities and execute solutions.
  • Comfortable working in environments with changing requirements and high levels of autonomy.
