Job Description:
Our client is looking for an experienced Head of DevOps, who has previously worked in Ecommerce and Retail, to oversee the team responsible for managing their platform and its services. This role involves ensuring the platform's security and scalability. Additionally, the role will involve designing and implementing practices like CI, Continuous Delivery and Automated Deployment.
Role Requirements:
- 8+ years as a senior or principal DevOps engineer or equivalent, with experience on large-scale projects
- Over 3-5 years of team management experience.
- Deploy, manage, and ensure scalable, reliable systems operation
- Manage server infrastructure and collaborate with hosting providers
- Familiarity with Cloud Providers (AWS, GCP)
- Expertise in Kubernetes
- Proficient in managing Linux environments, including setup and configuration of Apache, Nginx, Redis, Memcached, MySQL, and NoSQL solutions like MongoDB or Elasticsearch
- Proficiency in bash/shell scripting, and ideally in PHP, Perl, Ruby, Python, or Java
- Implement robust deployment and continuous integration strategies.
- Automate system and software deployments for efficiency and reliability
- Streamline processes, automate issue resolution, and improve team efficiency
- Maintain backups for all systems and support development with test environments
- Collaborate closely to align efforts, develop tactical plans, and deliver innovative technical solutions
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce request processing times
- Apply strong business acumen to ensure effective solution delivery
