The Opportunity
A leading global professional services organisation is seeking a Fabric Power BI Developer to support the delivery of enterprise analytics and data modelling initiatives.
This role will focus on designing and building scalable, governed reporting solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, with a strong emphasis on semantic modelling, performance optimisation, and enterprise data standards. You will play a key role in shaping the organisationโs analytics capability and enabling data-driven decision-making at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and lifecycle management of Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
- Own and define the semantic model strategy within Microsoft Fabric, driving reusable datasets and governed data models
- Develop advanced DAX calculations, KPIs, and measures, ensuring performance and scalability
- Build and manage Microsoft Fabric datasets, including Direct Lake architecture
- Optimise performance across:
- Semantic models
- DAX queries
- Report responsiveness
- Underlying data sources (SQL)
- Apply modern data architecture principles, including Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and data mesh concepts
- Define and maintain key business metrics, validation routines, and data traceability
- Establish and promote data governance standards across reporting and analytics solutions
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable analytics outputs
- Lead delivery within an Agile environment, contributing to sprint planning and prioritisation
- Define and oversee testing and quality assurance processes, including user acceptance testing
- Leverage AI tools (e.g. Copilot) to enhance development efficiency and analytics capability
- Support adoption of best practices across data visualisation, modelling, and enterprise reporting

Experience and Skills Required
- Proven experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions (2+ years minimum)
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, including semantic modelling and dataset design
- Advanced proficiency in:
- DAX
- Power BI development
- Solid SQL skills for data validation, querying, and performance optimisation
- Experience implementing data modelling standards and governance frameworks
- Understanding of modern data architectures, including Medallion and/or data mesh approaches
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Experience using AI-assisted tools (e.g. Copilot) in a development or analytics environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across distributed teams
