Job Description

About the job

This role is being recruited by CoffeeSpace on behalf of a fast-growing AI startup building software for renewable infrastructure and power development.

We’re identifying a small number of exceptional full-stack engineers from our network. If there’s a strong fit, we’ll introduce you directly to the team.

Location: New York City, hybrid 3 days/week in-office

Compensation: $150k–$235k base + competitive equity

Employment type: Full-time

Visa sponsorship: Available for most visas

Experience: 4+ years

About the company

This company is building the development engine for renewable infrastructure and power projects.

Their platform helps renewable energy developers, data center developers, real estate firms, EV charging companies, and other infrastructure teams move projects from siting to construction-ready much faster.

They use AI agents to automate early-stage due diligence, paired with internal power and permitting expertise for later-stage diligence.

The broader mission is to help the world identify the best climate-positive use for land, accelerating where solar farms, battery storage, EV charging, and renewable-powered data centers can actually get built.

The company was founded in 2022, has raised $18M, and has grown to around 50 people.

About the role

This is an IC full-stack engineering role on a growing software engineering team.

You’ll work closely with power, permitting, and infrastructure experts to build software that automates complex workflows in renewable energy development.

The work is highly data-intensive and technically deep. The platform processes and visualizes large-scale geospatial datasets, supports real-time map-based workflows, and is increasingly powered by AI agents that execute due diligence tasks.

You’ll own projects end to end, ship customer-facing features, and help scale the platform as usage grows.

What you’ll work on

• Build AI agents that automate real power development and permitting workflows

• Develop full-stack product features across Python, TypeScript, and modern data systems

• Work with large geospatial datasets and real-time map-based interfaces

• Build automation that unlocks new modeling capabilities for renewable infrastructure

• Partner closely with product and domain experts on roadmap and execution

• Scale frontend and backend systems as the platform handles more traffic and more complex data

This is a strong fit if you

• Have 4+ years of experience as an IC full-stack engineer

• Have worked in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment

• Have strong technical fundamentals across the stack

• Are comfortable with Python and TypeScript, or can ramp quickly

• Have experience with geospatial platforms, data-intensive products, or complex technical systems

• Have built or deployed AI agents in a product environment

• Are familiar with tools such as Agent SDKs, Messages API, LangGraph, or similar agent frameworks

• Can operate with ambiguity and proactively unblock yourself

• Want to work on climate infrastructure, renewable energy, and technically meaningful product problems

Nice to haves

• Experience with geospatial data, mapping products, or infrastructure software

• Experience with DuckDB, Delta Lake, file-system-first architectures, or large analytical datasets

• Experience building AI workflows that automate real business processes

• Prior experience as an early or high-impact IC at a startup

This may not be the right fit if you’re looking for

• A people-management track in the near term

• A slow-moving or highly structured engineering environment

• A role where specs are fully defined before you start building

• A purely backend or purely frontend role with limited product ownership

Why this role is exciting

• Work on climate infrastructure with real-world urgency and impact

• Build software that helps determine where renewable energy projects actually get built

• Tackle technically interesting problems across AI agents, geospatial data, maps, and scalable systems

• Join a growing team where strong ICs can have an outsized footprint

• Work directly with domain experts in power, permitting, renewables, and infrastructure

• Help shape a platform at the center of renewable energy, data centers, and climate-positive land use

Next steps

  1. Apply via this LinkedIn job post
  2. We’ll review and reach out if there’s a strong match
  3. If aligned, we’ll introduce you directly to the founding team
  4. If this role isn’t the right fit, we may suggest and make introductions to other high-signal startup roles we’re recruiting for, always with your permission

A quick note on authenticity

This is a real, active role that CoffeeSpace is recruiting for in close partnership with the hiring team. We don’t post speculative roles and work directly with teams on their actual hiring needs.
