Senior SQL Database Administrator

Manpower Bulgaria is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator on behalf of a global technology company delivering enterprise data and reporting solutions to leading financial institutions worldwide.

We are looking for a database professional with deep SQL expertise and extensive experience managing business-critical database environments. This role requires a strong technical background in database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and database architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise database systems

• Ensure database performance, availability, security, and scalability

• Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database processes

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through advanced SQL tuning and database optimization

• Configure and maintain replication and high-availability solutions

• Monitor database health and proactively address issues before they impact operations

• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes

• Collaborate closely with development teams to improve database efficiency and application performance

• Support database migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments

• Advanced SQL skills with proven experience in query optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and performance tuning

• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and database architecture

• Experience in database design, data modeling, and normalization

• Hands-on experience with replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions

• Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment

• Experience with cloud-based database platforms is considered an advantage

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Nice to Have:

• Experience with large-scale databases and high-volume transactional systems

• Knowledge of cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or similar platforms

• Experience working within financial services, fintech, or data-driven environments
