Senior QA Automation Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. QA Automation Engineer based in India.

This role is focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of enterprise-grade software solutions through advanced test automation practices. You will work closely with agile scrum teams to design, develop, and execute robust automated test frameworks using modern tools such as Playwright with TypeScript. The position plays a key role in embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to release validation. You will collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA peers to define test strategies, improve coverage, and ensure seamless product performance. This is a highly technical role suited for professionals passionate about automation, scalable systems, and continuous improvement in fast-paced agile environments. You will also contribute to enhancing user experience by acting as a quality advocate within the team.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and execute functional and performance test plans for enterprise applications within agile scrum teams
• Build and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Playwright with TypeScript
• Convert manual test cases into scalable automated test scenarios to improve test coverage and efficiency
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, story grooming, and validation of acceptance criteria
• Perform end-to-end testing, including UI, API, and integrated system testing in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Track, analyze, and report defects using tools such as Jira and Zephyr while ensuring timely resolution
• Develop high-quality test documentation, including test cases, execution reports, and test summary reports
• Ensure compliance with established QA methodologies, standards, and organizational practices
• Work closely with developers to identify issues early and improve product quality continuously
• Act as a domain expert for assigned areas, understanding product functionality, strengths, and limitations
• Advocate for end-user experience by identifying risks and improving system usability and reliability
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related science/technical field
• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, particularly in enterprise-scale applications
• Strong hands-on experience with QA automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or TestComplete (Playwright preferred)
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in test automation and framework development
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript (Java or .NET experience is also valuable)
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, STLC, and best practices in testing complex systems
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with strong collaboration skills
• Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools like Jira and Zephyr
• Experience in API testing, database validation, and large-scale system testing is highly desirable
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to transform manual test cases into automated, scalable test suites
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in distributed teams
