Java Backend Developer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Security. You will work closely with internal development teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing APIs while adhering to engineering, security, and compliance standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
• Design and implement scalable microservices and event-driven solutions using Confluent Kafka.
• Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and shell scripting.

• Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests using tools such as Mockito, Gatling, and JMeter.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system reliability using New Relic and Grafana.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
• Experience working with Kafka and event-driven systems.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and tools, including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Exposure to AWS cloud services.

• Experience with shell scripting and automation.
