Senior Backend Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy)
• Build and maintain API-driven data processing and orchestration frameworks
• Implement asynchronous and concurrent processing using Python (asyncio)
• Develop and optimize data pipelines and integrations within cloud platforms (Azure)
• Work with data platforms such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks
• Design robust data models, validation layers, and persistence mechanisms
• Ensure observability, logging, and monitoring for enterprise-grade systems
• Implement and maintain testing frameworks (Pytest, integration testing)

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and product teams
• Participate in code reviews and performance optimization initiatives

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of experience as a backend/software engineer
• Strong experience in Python, with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• Currently living in the Netherlands and available to work on-site/hybrid when required
• Proven experience designing and building APIs and microservices architectures
• Experience working with data platforms or data pipelines (ETL, streaming is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with Azure is required
• Experience with Azure data services such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Redis, etc.)
• Knowledge of observability practices (logging, monitoring, tracing)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
• Experience with asynchronous programming and building high-performance, scalable systems
• Solid experience with testing frameworks such as Pytest
