Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer - AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer to join our team in Zwijnaarde, Ghent, Belgium. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, CI/CD pipeline implementation, container orchestration, and platform engineering.

This role requires hands-on expertise in AWS cloud environments, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes-based deployments, GitOps practices, and modern DevOps toolchains. Candidates with exposure to semantic web technologies, knowledge graphs, and ontology management frameworks will have an added advantage.

The successful candidate will work within an international Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build, automate, secure, and optimize cloud-native platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible.
• Develop, optimize, and manage CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
• Lead CI/CD migration initiatives and modernize existing DevOps processes.
• Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement GitOps practices using ArgoCD for automated and reliable deployments.
• Manage observability, monitoring, alerting, and performance tracking solutions.
• Implement and maintain identity and access management solutions using Keycloak or similar IAM platforms.
• Collaborate with development, architecture, and operations teams to improve deployment efficiency and platform reliability.
• Ensure infrastructure security, compliance, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices for cloud-native and DevOps implementations.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architecture and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience building highly automated and scalable deployment platforms.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security and operational best practices.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Passion for automation, continuous improvement, and emerging technologies.

Cloud Platforms

• Strong hands-on experience with: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure is considered a plus.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Terraform
• Ansible

CI/CD & DevOps Tooling

• GitLab CI/CD
• GitHub Actions
• CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and migration expertise

Containerization & Orchestration

• Docker
