Senior Backend Engineer for Medical-Grade AI Platform

This is a fast-growing healthtech company building one of the few AI platforms in healthcare that is already live in hospitals, clinically validated, and certified.

Their product predicts complications using real-time medical data, helping clinicians intervene hours to days earlier directly improving patient health, reducing avoidable risks and a much better use of specialists time.

This is not a research project or early-stage concept. The platform is already integrated into hospital systems, actively used by clinicians, and expanding internationally. With strong investor backing and a clear path toward U.S. market entry, the company is entering a critical scale-up phase.

You’ll join a small, senior engineering team (~10 people) and work closely with technical leadership to shape the architecture of a medical-grade platform that operates across both cloud and on-premise hospital environments.

Tech Environment:

• Python (backend services)

What You’ll Do:

• Design and build backend systems handling sensitive medical data

• Lead the transition toward a scalable microservices architecture

• Own services end-to-end (design → deployment → production)

• Work on integrations with complex external systems (EHRs)

• Collaborate with data scientists and domain experts

• Contribute to architecture, scalability, and security decisions

• Help scale from single deployments to multi-customer environments

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong backend experience (Python)

• Experience with Docker / distributed systems

• Strong system design and architectural thinking

• Security-aware engineering mindset

• Comfortable in structured, documentation-heavy environments

• Ownership mentality and clear communication

Nice to Have:

• Cloud (Azure), Kubernetes, Ansible

• Experience deploying ML models

• Experience with regulated environments

• Experience with complex integrations / data systems
