Software Developer - Big Data Streaming in UNITED KINGDOM

Seeking an exceptional Software Developer with experience designing and developing Big Data, Event Driven, Streaming applications in London for a Global Top 10 Hedge Fund. Candidates must have direct experience and skills to be considered for this position. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not available.

Compensation: £150-£175k base salary. 100%+ cash bonus. 10% pension and stacked benefits package. 3-4 days in the office (Mayfair), market hours. Sign-on and guaranteed comp are available for suitable candidates.

About the role

• Design, development, and implementation of Big Data and Event Driven applications
• Develop and own core tools, frameworks, and methodologies with an emphasis on scale, reusability, and simplicity
• Work on high-profile projects using cutting-edge technologies
• Research and deploy evolving technology into the stack

Expertise expectation

• 3-6 years of experience.
• Strong programming skills in at least one statically typed language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Scala, Rust)
• Proven stream processing-related experience (e.g., Flink, Kafka Streams, or similar)
• Experience with distributed messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
• Technical expertise with Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Ignite, or similar)
• Strong concurrent programming skills
• Comfortable and quick with learning new technologies and programming languages
• Experience with cloud, container, and microservice infrastructures (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
• Excellent academic track record in Computer Science or similar.
