Senior DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

Intellias is partnering with a Fortune 100, Midwest-based industrial manufacturer to modernize and expand a suite of cloud-based services and data products used by a global network of dealers, enterprise customers, and internal business units. Our cross-functional teams deliver scalable APIs, event-driven services, and analytics pipelines that power quoting, ordering, asset telemetry, diagnostics, and lifecycle support for heavy equipment in the field.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure AWS infrastructure to support distributed backend and platform services
• Build and operate reliable CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe, and repeatable deployments across multiple environments
• Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, ensuring consistency, traceability, and ease of change
• Partner with development teams to improve developer experience through automation, tooling, and platform simplification
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues involving networking, security, permissions, and service integrations
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices to ensure high availability and operational visibility
• Continuously improve infrastructure security posture and operational resilience
• Contribute to documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing across engineering teams
• Provide operational support during overlapping US Central Time business hours and collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams

What you need for this

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining automated infrastructure and DevOps solutions for large-scale engineering organizations (100+ developers, 100+ services)
• Proficiency in Python for infrastructure automation, CI/CD workflows, and API integrations (AWS, GitHub, Azure DevOps)
• Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS, including IAM, VPC, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and Aurora PostgreSQL
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups) and DNS management with Route53
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including complex workflows in Azure Pipelines (and/or GitHub Actions)
• Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, particularly AWS CloudFormation, for managing complex, multi-environment deployments
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills across infrastructure, networking, security, and permissions in distributed cloud systems
• Ability to architect simple, maintainable solutions that reduce operational and cognitive complexity for development teams
• Highly autonomous and self-directed engineer, capable of taking ownership of problems from definition through production delivery with minimal supervision

Nice to have:

• Experience with additional AWS services such as DynamoDB, Kinesis, and CloudFront
• Familiarity with Docker and container-based workflows
• Experience with Java (Maven) and/or Python build and packaging ecosystems
• Strong Git and GitHub experience in multi-repository environments
