About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join our Technical Solutions Team at Halliburton. This role is pivotal in implementing and maintaining the delivery platform for our Neftex subsurface evaluation product portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for building scalable, reliable solutions using cloud technologies and automation tools. You will collaborate closely with application developers and operational teams to design, deploy, and manage infrastructure both in cloud and on-premises environments. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a solid educational background and relevant experience in infrastructure and cloud environments. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience working with distributed systems, private cloud, and hybrid solutions. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, along with experience in CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell, is essential. Candidates should also have a good understanding of networking principles, monitoring, logging, and alerting tools, as well as familiarity with public cloud providers such as AWS or Azure. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in an agile environment are critical for success in this role.

Preferred qualifications include experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, knowledge of modern infrastructure design patterns, and familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible. Additional expertise in infrastructure security, compliance standards such as SOC2, and working within distributed teams will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient infrastructure to support operational applications.
• Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Create and maintain automation scripts for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment tasks.
• Develop operational tooling and scripts to enhance monitoring, logging, backups, and incident response capabilities.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration between applications and infrastructure components.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using industry-standard tools and metrics, and implement improvements as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues across various environments to minimize downtime.
• Implement and enforce security policies and best practices within cloud and on-premises environments.
• Maintain and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts and templates to ensure consistency and repeatability.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous process improvement.
• Document infrastructure configurations, operational procedures, and system architecture for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
• Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies, automation frameworks, and DevOps trends, and proactively recommend enhancements to existing systems.
