Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a
Cloud Monitoring Site Reliability Engineer. This individual will setup and maintain configuration of Cloud deployments for proper Logging and Monitoring, Monitor metrics, resolve issues, in support of CFTC Cloud infrastructure team. Peraton serves as a valued partner to essential government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, civilian, health, and state and local markets. Every day, our employees do the can't be done, solving the most daunting challenges facing our customers. This is a remote position.
What you will do:
- Monitor AWS/AZURE Cloud Metrics.
- Setup and Configure Logging and Montioring aspects of cloud deployments, and ensure compliance.
- Actively look to improve performance and stability of infrastructure/application
- Automate deployment of infrastructure and application components.
- Monitor stability of operating environments.
- Perform root-cause analysis of production failure.
- Evaluates, and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
- Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
- Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
- Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
- Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.
- Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements.
- Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum 5 years. Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree.
- Experience in AWS/Azure Infrastructure.
- Experience in system engineering and SRE practices, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Proven experience with Monitoring and Logging tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and server management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell), IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef
- Experience with both cloud platforms AWS, Azure.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance (Public Trust).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal or Government contracting and consulting experience is a plus.
- Masters degree preferred.

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
