Role Overview
Lead the development of bare-metal firmware for advanced chip subsystems (DSP/PHY-adjacent) and support both pre- and post-silicon bring-up/debug. This position is the senior technical anchor for the Austin site, providing deep technical expertise, mentoring engineers, and coordinating closely with teams in Israel and Boston.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and debug bare-metal embedded firmware running on-chip
- Implement interfaces to signal-processing blocks and contribute to DSP firmware features
- Integrate and validate system behavior with digital and analog engineering teams
- Support chip bring-up and system-level debugging in pre-/post-silicon environments
- Provide senior technical leadership, mentorship, and act as a primary local resource
- Coordinate cross-functionally across firmware, SDK, and hardware test teams
- 15+ years in real-time embedded software/firmware engineering
- Advanced expertise in Embedded C
- Strong semiconductor/ASIC background
- Proven experience developing bare-metal firmware
- Solid understanding of DSP and PHY concepts
- Hands-on SPI driver/integration experience; familiarity with I2C
- Experience working with APIs, SDKs, and chip-level firmware ecosystems
- Python scripting for testing, tooling, automation
- DSP/PHY experience in RF/wireless/modem/SDR (LTE, 5G, GSM, etc.)
- RTOS background
- Embedded Linux experience
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab)
- Strong Git workflows
- Prior experience working with distributed teams
