Our confidential U.S.-based client is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their global engineering team. This role is fully remote and open exclusively to candidates based in Latin America.
As an SDET, you'll blend software engineering skills with a strong testing mindset to ensure the quality, scalability, and performance of modern web applications. You’ll help build testing frameworks, design automation strategies, and contribute to a culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.
You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer success teams — all within a 100% English-speaking environment.
🔹 Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks using Cypress.io, BDD (Cucumber), and Page Object Model (POM).
🔹 Participate in BDD processes such as Example Mapping and Three Amigos workshops.
🔹 Apply a shift-left testing approach to identify issues early.
🔹 Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, CircleCI).
🔹 Perform black box and white box testing for web apps and APIs.
🔹 Debug and maintain test automation pipelines.
🔹 Manage and document issues in Jira.
🔹 Mentor junior engineers and promote testing best practices.
✔️ 4+ years in Agile/SCRUM development environments
✔️ 3+ years as an SDET or QA Automation Engineer
✔️ Strong programming skills in JavaScript or Java
✔️ Hands-on experience with Cypress.io (Selenium ok as a substitute)
✔️ Experience with Cucumber (Gherkin) and POM
✔️ Strong understanding of HTML/CSS + ability to write SQL queries
✔️ Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, CircleCI)
✔️ Excellent English communication skills
⭐ Experience with A/B testing, accessibility, or security testing
⭐ Familiarity with Docker, ECS, or Fargate
⭐ Experience with SonarQube, PHPUnit, JUnit, or Pest
⭐ Cloud exposure / AWS certifications
⭐ Experience working with Product & Customer Success teams
