Senior Databricks Developer - Relocation to Abu Dhabi - Must be on site in Abu Dhabi - Tax Free 🇦🇪
We're working with our client, a leading Fintech, with huge investment put into Machine Learning and Data Science, to hire a Senior Databricks Developer to join their growing team based in Abu Dhabi.
Salary:
Up to 32k Dirhams per month (Circa €96k per year tax free)
What You'll Work with:
Databricks, Blob Storage, MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL, Data Modeling, Python, Kafka, Hadoop
We want to speak with Databricks Developers with expertise in crafting, building, and optimizing data processing pipelines using Databricks on Apache Spark. As a Senior Databricks Developer, you'll design and implement effective data solutions aligning with our client’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, create, and manage data processing pipelines using Databricks on Apache Spark
- Enhance and optimize Databricks jobs and workflows for better performance, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate with data engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to understand and address data requirements
- Implement data governance, security, and compliance practices in Databricks
- Work with infrastructure and DevOps teams to maintain Databricks clusters and resources
- Develop APIs for data consumption by internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure data quality and consistency through testing and validation
- Integrate Databricks with SQL, NoSQL databases, and other systems like Kafka and Hadoop
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high-quality data pipelines
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles, specializing in Databricks and Apache Spark
- Experience with S3, Blob Storage, or Big Query
- Familiarity with various databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions
- Strong understanding of data schema, storage, and modeling principles
- Experience with distributed computing principles and parallel processing techniques
- Knowledge of data modeling for both structured and unstructured data
- Strong background with Python (programming language)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
- Certifications such as Databricks Certified Developer or Databricks Certified Associate are advantageous
- A bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science or an Engineering field (Master's is preferred)
