About The Role

We are seeking three highly skilled Software Engineers with expertise in .NET and C# to join our team on a fully remote, six-month contract basis, with extensions likely. These roles are integral to a significant public sector transformation project for a Central Government client. As a Software Engineer at Meritus, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure and scalable software applications tailored to meet the unique needs of government operations. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze technical specifications, and deliver high-quality solutions that align with project objectives and security standards.

This opportunity requires candidates to hold active SC and NPPV3 clearances, ensuring compliance with government security protocols. The role offers competitive daily rates of up to 600 per day inside IR35, reflecting the importance and seniority of the position within the project scope.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with a focus on .NET technologies. Essential qualifications include proven experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, and .NET 6+. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with developing and consuming XML and JSON APIs, as well as experience working within secure environments. Knowledge of testing frameworks such as MSTest is required to ensure code quality. Additionally, candidates must hold active SC and NPPV3 security clearances or be eligible to obtain them.

Educational qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields are preferred but not mandatory if sufficient practical experience is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust applications utilizing C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, and .NET 6+ to meet project specifications and security standards.
• Build and consume XML and JSON APIs within secure environments, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document technical requirements, translating them into scalable solutions.
• Write, execute, and maintain MSTest unit tests to uphold high software quality and facilitate continuous integration processes.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and adhere to best practices in software development.
