About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team at Central Peninsula Hospital. This critical role involves managing and maintaining the hospital's complex network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and security across various environments. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting network solutions that support our healthcare operations, including on-premise systems, cloud-based services, remote access, and hybrid configurations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment, contributing to the hospital’s mission of providing exceptional patient care through reliable and secure technological systems.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education and experience that demonstrates their ability to manage sophisticated network environments. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with technical training from a computer-oriented trade school or an associate degree in computer-related studies. Candidates should have at least four years of progressive experience in network management, server administration, or storage solutions. Strong knowledge of high-end routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls is essential. Additionally, familiarity with cloud computing, network architecture design, and security protocols will be advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the hospital’s network infrastructure, including high-end routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Design and implement scalable network solutions that support various environments such as on-premise, cloud, remote, and hybrid configurations.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary upgrades to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
  • Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to develop network policies, security protocols, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Participate in planning and executing network architecture projects, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on network-related systems and security best practices.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for ongoing support and compliance.
