About The Role
Our client is a rapidly scaling construction work efficiency platform, leveraging
wearable cameras and cutting-edge AI vision models to analyze on-site productivity. They are tackling the
$1.6 trillion annual productivity loss in the construction industry by building tools that help teams save on labor costs and improve safety. The company has secured a
$5 million seed round and is scaling rapidly toward its Series A.
They are seeking an
exceptional Member of Technical Staff to build and scale core platform features that transform how construction teams manage safety, productivity, and workforce development for their frontline craftworkers. This is a high-impact, hands-on coding role where you'll own critical initiatives.
What You'll Build & Solve
You will be responsible for building complex, scalable workforce management systems and intuitive user interfaces for non-technical users in the field:
- Time + Attendance Automation: Build automated timesheet systems with text-based dispatch, pre-shift roll call, and streamlined time entry workflows
- Challenge: Building scalable systems that handle automated timesheets and dispatch workflows for thousands of construction workers
- Project Management Dashboards: Create comprehensive project roadmap views that visualize complex scheduling, crew distribution, and project sequencing data for superintendents
- Challenge: Creating intuitive interfaces that visualize complex scheduling, crew allocation, and project sequencing data
- Incentives + Rewards: Develop gamified reward systems that integrate with payroll systems for milestone and skill-based recognition
- Challenge: Designing reward platforms that integrate with various payroll systems and handle diverse recognition programs
- Training + Skills: Build Learning Management Systems (LMS) that identify skill gaps, deliver personalized training, and track certifications
- Integrations + API: Design robust API infrastructure for third-party integrations with HR systems, construction management tools, and industry platforms
- Challenge: Building robust API integrations with legacy construction management software that have inconsistent data formats
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in full-stack platform development and distributed systems in production environments
- Deep expertise in backend technologies including Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis, and modern web frameworks
- Strong background in real-time data processing, analytics platforms, and API design
- Production experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), microservices architecture, and high-scale data pipelines
- Strong systems thinking for end-to-end platform architecture and cross-team integration
- Experience building B2B SaaS platforms for operational or industrial environments (construction, manufacturing, etc.) is highly valued
- Currently in a hands-on coding role (not management)
Benefits
- Salary: $175K - $275K (Willing to flex for top talent before Series A.)
- Equity: 0.5% to 1.5% (High upside due to pre-Series A timing)
- Visa Sponsorship: Available, including relocation assistance for candidates moving to the San Francisco Bay Area
