Microsoft Azure Storage, which is a massively scalable, highly distributed, ubiquitously accessible storage system, designed to scale out and serve the entire world. We continue to have tremendous hockey stick growth, with many Exabyte’s of data stored, and are designing and building systems for Zettabyte scale to support demand growth for the coming years. 

As a Service Engineer II in the Azure Storage Capacity Management team, you will automate, improve and support highly scalable, performant services that deliver highly reliable, secure and available access to storage for our customers. Responsibilities

  • You will participate in onboarding, code/design reviews, and regular meetings with the engineering teams that develop and manage those products.
  • You will independently develop code or scripts that automate the performance of repetitive and easily scalable operations processes.
  • You design, develop, and maintain telemetry dashboard and monitoring tools that detail operations metrics.
  • You respond to incidents during regular on-call rotations.
  • You will Proactively reduce the Incident volume and operational noise by triaging automated incidents, optimizing resolution workflows, and collaborating across teams to prevent recurrence.
  • You will be a bridge between various stakeholders in Azure Storage/Core along with field teams and help mitigate customer issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls
    • OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering,
    • OR systems administration
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering.
