We are currently seeking an experienced Network Systems Engineer to join our corporate IT Operations Team as a full-time employee. This position is a fully remote office position.

The Network Systems Engineer will be instrumental in the design, operation, and future direction of our company’s systems and network infrastructure. The role requires expert level technical knowledge, results-driven, customer-focused professional who excels in collaborative environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in configuring, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise-class network and system devices and services. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision are essential to this role. Other responsibilities include:

  • Design, installation, configuration, and deployment of network and system infrastructure, including Cisco, VMware, Windows, and Linux systems.
  • Provide ongoing support for troubleshooting and resolving issues with network and system components, ensuring performance optimization and maximum uptime.
  • Utilize tools to monitor network systems and services, including Wireshark, and generate performance statistics and availability reports.
  • Ensure network and system security by implementing industry best practices, manage vendor patching and participate in vulnerability management processes.
  • Managing firewall technologies, VPNs, and policies for efficient operations
  • Implement and manage cloud-based services and technologies (Azure, AWS) to improve network infrastructure efficiency.
  • Manage and configure load balancing solutions (F5 BigIPs, iRules, RegEx) for improved application performance and availability.
  • Work closely with leadership and other departments to assess the current and future network and system capacity needs.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and integrate relevant technologies and solutions into the organization’s network and system infrastructure.
  • Lead and manage network and system projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.


Requirements:

  • At least 5 years enterprise level experience in enterprise class network and systems engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco devices, LAN/WAN technologies, and firewall management.
  • Experience with VMware, Windows, Linux environments, and storage systems.
  • Solid knowledge of wireless technologies, VPN solutions (Site-to-Site, Client-Side), and cloud integrations (Azure/AWS).
  • Expertise in L2/L3 networking protocols and a solid understanding of standards-based networking technologies.
  • Experience in load balancing (F5 BigIPs, iRule management) and network performance optimization.
  • Must have in-depth understanding of network and system security methodologies and best practices as well as data center operations and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills and can handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams and leadership but also the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
