Summary

The Ash Group is hiring a remote Data Analyst to support a major electricity and natural gas utility provider. This role plays a key part in maintaining and analyzing GIS and database systems to support a critical wildfire mitigation program, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across engineering and communications systems.


Compensation & Benefits

Competitive pay rate at $34 per hour, medical, dental, vision, and direct primary care benefits, and, after six months of employment, a 4% matched 401(k) plan with immediate 100% vesting.

Duration: 3-month contract with potential to extend or convert

Location: Fully remote position for U.S.-based candidates

Schedule: Standard business hours (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), 40 hours/week

Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Analyze, validate, and maintain GIS and Access database data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support new device installations and maintenance of existing equipment.
  • Verify templates and data accuracy for engineering and communications systems.
  • Manage the Common Device Database and process data requests.
  • Collaborate with engineering, GIS, and project management teams to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Create and publish scheduled and ad hoc reports.
  • Document reporting requirements and validate data components.


What We’re Looking For

  • 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in utilities or communications.
  • Strong GIS background and experience with Access databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, SharePoint).
  • Effective data validation and analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with distribution management systems (DMS) is a plus.

  • Experience with advanced database management and process automation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Process improvement mindset and initiative to enhance data systems.
