HR Manager in Irvine, CA. The HR Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources within the west region including staffing, career development, employee recognition, diversity, and employee relations.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), conveys and manages various human resources policies, procedures, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Assist with benefit administration, including communicating all benefit information to employees and acting as intermediary in enrollments and claims resolutions.
- Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs and organizes employee events.
- Assists with immigration and other responsibilities related to relocation and staffing administrations including assisting with visa applications and processing.
- Partners with Manager, Talent Acquisition on all recruiting activities; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; extends job offers; conducts new-employee on-boarding; overseeing background checks and drug screens for new hires monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews for continuous improvement.
- Manages and conducts all required training programs mandated by federal, state and local laws.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Coordinates with the Manager of Compliance to conduct allegation investigations
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department and services performed.
- Work with corporate HR Specialists to implement college recruiting plan in the West Region and develop Bridge to Excellence and Emerging Engineers programs locally
- Mentor and train HR staff under your supervision
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Human Resources experience and construction experience are highly preferred.
- Experience dealing with labor unions is highly preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization. Capable of managing projects and tasks successfully to completion
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Possess knowledge or familiarity with California and Federal Employment Laws
- Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
