Job Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our client’s team.
- The role is fully remote to start, with the possibility of relocating to Dublin, OH in the future.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive backend development expertise using Java and Spring Boot, along with hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications on GCP.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Build and optimize APIs and services with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for containerized application deployment.
- Cloud Run / App Engine for serverless and managed environments.
- Cloud Pub/Sub for messaging and event-driven systems.
- BigQuery / Cloud SQL / Firestore for data storage and analytics.
- Cloud Storage for file/object management.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Product Owners) to ensure smooth delivery.
- Follow best practices in cloud security, performance optimization, and cost management on GCP.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Java and Spring Boot.
- Proven expertise in building microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Strong experience with GCP services, including GKE, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and willingness to relocate to Columbus, OH when required.
