We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our remote Data Science team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys leading teams, understands the technical context, and knows how to connect business goals with engineering outcomes.
About the RoleYou will manage a distributed team of software engineers, working closely with product and technical leadership to ensure smooth delivery, alignment, and continuous improvement within the Data Science domain. Your focus will be on people management, process optimisation, and effective communication.
Responsibilities- Lead and support a team of software engineers.
- Set goals, delegate tasks, and oversee delivery timelines.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Tech Leads.
- Improve workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
- Monitor performance and support professional development.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment across departments.
- Identify and manage risks, blockers, and dependencies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
Requirements- Proven experience leading teams in Data Science, Data Engineering, or Machine Learning environments.
- 2+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Prior experience in a team leadership or management role.
- Strong technical understanding and ability to communicate with engineers.
- English proficiency at C1 level or higher (written and spoken).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred- Experience in startups or fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Python, PHP, or React.
- Certifications or training in Agile or project management.
