Under the direction of the General Manager, the incumbent will oversee the Human Resources Department for the Kettle River Operations (KRO). This role requires strong leadership expertise, management skills, and a deep understanding of employee relations and operational efficiency.
Job Summary
- Lead the consistent execution of the Human Resources (“HR”) strategy and initiatives at Kettle River to ensure that it is aligned with the organization’s long-term strategy.
- Ensure the delivery of core HR programs and processes for employees, including, but not limited to, employee relations, performance and talent management, recruitment, compensation, benefit administration, payroll, training and development, labor law compliance, and relocation.
- Ensure that site HR initiatives, polices, and practices are implemented, aligned, and are compliant with all company policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance on HR programs such as benefits, retirement, employee policies and procedures, grievances, and other programs to ensure compliance with applicable plan documents, legislations, and regulations.
- Analyze data trends and use data to make informed business decisions.
- Oversee recruitment and daily sourcing strategies.
- Provide oversight on disability, retirement, or death benefit claims amongst insurance carriers, employees, dependents, or beneficiaries.
- Work closely with the regional HR management team and Legal to ensure all issues related to employment law are handled fairly and in compliance with local and federal law.
- Provide input to the design of corporate and regional HR programs and initiatives and ensure they are successfully implemented and understood at the site.
- Ensures the continuous improvement of HR initiatives by recommending improvements and sharing learning post-implementation.
- Identify key performance measures for the Kettle River HR team in order to monitor the performance as well as development of direct reports.
- Proactively collaborate with site management to understand operational requirements and initiatives.
- Evaluate training and development requirements at the site, implement programs, where required, to support training needs.
- Performs other related functions as assigned.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
- 8-10 years of related work experience.
- 8-10 years of experience working in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge and understanding of local, state and federal regulations required, including labor relations, minimum wage laws, FMLA, ADA, retirement plan, and other applicable employment laws.
- Proven record of developing and implementing HR programs and initiatives.
- Excellent influence, leadership, negotiation, technical, project and change management skills.
- Experience with leading, managing, and developing a team of HR professionals.
- Ability to adapt to change and be a positive influence to all employees.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Demonstrated proficiency using HRIS (Performance, Compensation, and Learning Management Systems), Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
