Location: UK (Remote, with London HQ)
Role Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Team Lead
About the Role
We’re looking for a technically strong Infrastructure & Support Engineer to join our UK-based team. This is not a call-centre support role, it’s a hands-on technical position focused on keeping critical client platforms reliable, secure, and high-performing.
You’ll be at the intersection of infrastructure, operations, and client-facing engineering support solving complex problems across cloud, networking, and application layers. This role is ideal for someone with a sysadmin/DevOps background who enjoys direct collaboration with clients and wants scope to develop deeper engineering skills (e.g. Golang, Angular, cloud automation).
The position includes participation in a compensated on-call rotation, including weekend pager duty, shared fairly across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and incident resolution, engaging directly with client engineering/IT teams.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of technical issues: triage, root cause analysis, fix or escalate, and document.
- Monitor and manage infrastructure across Linux, Azure/AWS cloud environments, and PostgreSQL databases.
- Troubleshoot networking, VPN, DNS, and firewall configurations.
- Collaborate closely with distributed teams in the UK and Asia Pacific to maintain service uptime and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to runbooks, tooling, and automation that improve supportability.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, ensuring service reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
- Solid background in IT systems administration, infrastructure support, or technical operations (not end-user desktop support).
- Strong experience with Linux servers and cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS).
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, firewalls, DNS, VPNs).
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Ability to work independently and across time zones, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Exposure to DevOps practices and tooling (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cybersecurity fundamentals (hardening, access control, vulnerability remediation).
- Interest in or exposure to application development in Golang, Angular, PHP, or C.
- Experience with monitoring/logging platforms (e.g. Prometheus, ELK, Grafana).
What We Offer
- A fully remote UK-based role with occasional collaboration in our London HQ.
- The opportunity to grow into a DevOps/engineering pathway, with scope to work across cloud automation and modern stacks.
- On-call allowance and a rotation designed to be fair and sustainable.
- A collaborative culture that values autonomy, initiative, and technical excellence.
