Factor Search are currently partnered with a pioneering business developing digital biomarkers of neurological conditions using augmented reality and machine learning. They are looking for an entrepreneurial Director or Senior Director of Data Science & Software to innovate and execute product initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop product strategies: Lay out the analytic vision and roadmap, influencing leadership and peers to develop a consistent and transparent digital and data science strategy.
- Drive alignment: Coordinate across functional areas to align individual roadmaps with strategic corporate goals and objectives.
- Lead and develop highly performing teams: Nurture a culture of collaboration, effective execution, and innovation within the data science and engineering functions, following agile methodologies and best practices to ensure data quality and successful platform validation.
- Advance AI and ML: Explore and coordinate advancements in AI, ML, and related technologies, explaining concepts internally and to regulators.
- Oversee software development: Lead software development, including mobile applications and web-based/cloud-enabled data analytics, ensuring effective delivery through geographically distributed teams.
- Direct Report Management: Manage the software development, testing, and DevOps team through a Manager/Sr. Manager of Software Engineering.
Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience: 10+ years leading data and software teams, working collaboratively with product, engineering and cross-functional partners, guiding data-driven product planning, prioritization, and strategy development.
- Technical experience in development and deployment: Developed and deployed scalable ML models resulting in significant improvements in predictive accuracy and operational efficiency. (e.g., PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
- Knowledge of quality management and regulations: Familiar with medical device regulations and standards, including healthcare data, application to Software As a Medical Device (SaMD). Some experience with software engineering for FDA-regulated products.
- Delivering multiple, highly visible projects: Coached others and ensured timely delivery of digital/data science strategies.
- Experience in hiring and scaling teams: Hired, retained, and scaled, high-performing teams.
