Requirement & Responsibilities
- Civil/Mechanical or Structural Engineering graduate with minimum 8 years of experience in steel structures, preferably in industrial or large-scale construction.
- Ability to interpret IFC & Shop Drawings, project specifications, related to steel structures, communicate and raise all concerns and issues to the project stakeholders (client, contractors, sub-contractors)
- Having Welding Inspector Certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Welding Inspector-CWI)
- NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Certifications such as UT (Ultrasonic Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), or RT (Radiographic Testing) are highly valued.
- ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems knowledge or certification is mandatory.
- Familiarity with AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) and AWS D1.1 (American Welding Society) codes and standards is essential.
- Understanding of QA/QC Processes: Ability to develop, implement, and maintain quality control and assurance procedures for steel structures.
- Inspection and Testing: Proficiency in inspecting steel fabrication, erection, welding, and bolting, including reviewing mill certificates and conducting site inspections.
- Reporting: Prepare Daily, Weekly & Monthly reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and maintain inspection records.
- Audit and Compliance: Conduct audits on subcontractors and ensure compliance with local and international standards and codes.
- Communication: Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and clients regarding quality issues.
- Experience with factory and site inspections, material receiving, and installation verification is important.
- Ability to review all contractor’s submittals related to steel structures.
