Hardware Engineer – IoT & Embedded Systems
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join our innovative team in Japan. This role is hands-on and central to our work in IoT and smart automation solutions. If you have deep expertise in hardware design and embedded systems, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Hardware Design & Development
- Design, implement, and test hardware solutions for IoT and automation applications
- Develop schematics and PCB layouts using EasyEDA (other PCB tools welcome)
- Work with microcontrollers such as STM32 and ESP32
- Prototype new designs and lead the transition from prototype to production
- Production & Testing
- Supervise PCB manufacturing and assembly processes
- Perform hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., CE, FCC, PSE in Japan)
- Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with software, firmware, and product design teams
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Contribute to project planning, feasibility assessments, and design reviews
Requirements
- Must be currently living in Japan (relocation not supported)
- 5+ years of professional experience in hardware engineering
- Strong hands-on experience in embedded systems and IoT hardware development
- Proficiency in schematic design, PCB layout, and circuit simulation
- Solid knowledge of STM32 and ESP32 platforms
- Familiarity with hardware communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Modbus)
- Experience with power supply design, signal integrity, and EMC/EMI considerations
- Strong debugging skills using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.)
- Knowledge of wireless connectivity technologies (Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee) is a plus
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
- English required; Japanese preferred but not mandatory
