We are looking for a Network Cloud Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team located in Redu, Belgium, assisting it in its activities for the European Space Agency (ESA).

Tasks and activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Contributing to the research, development, integration, implementation and maintenance of complex cybersecurity solutions for ESA, leveraging cyber-risk assessment, security operations management and cybersecurity simulation and testing over complex systems within the Space domain (ground, space and data segments).
  • Working with state-of-the-art virtualization, Infrastructure-as-a-Service and cybersecurity operations systems.


Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • University Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent by experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on IT experience with a strong focus on Network Security (must).
  • Experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and documenting network configurations.
  • Strong proficiency with Linux operating system.
  • Hands-on experience in datacentre support, including the racking and cabling of IT equipment.
  • Strong expertise in virtualization technologies such as vSan, vCenter, vCloud, etc.
  • Knowledge in providing support for Security Operations Centres (SOC) IT applications.
  • Time management skills with the ability to work overtime when required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent proofreading/editing skills.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team, recognizing the importance of cooperation,
  • information sharing, and offering support and feedback.
  • Eligibility for a Personal Security Clearance, issued by your national security authority.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.


The following skills are considered as relevant assets:

  • Proven expertise in interpreting and implementing requirements for network security and controls.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server and RedHat operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Infoblox DNS and NTP servers, including protective measures of them.
  • In-depth experience with Endpoint Detection and Response systems (EDR).
  • Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
