System Administrator in NETHERLANDS

As a System Administrator, you’ll be at the heart of our IT operations, ensuring our infrastructure runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently. Your role will involve hands-on work mostly with Linux-based systems, implementing robust security practices, and managing our network to support the services that drive our success. Responsibilities

• Manage and improve the company’s security infrastructure, including VPN implementation and centralized access systems.
• Maintain and support the security of systems for remote access.
• Assist with configuring and maintaining network infrastructure, including data center management.
• Implement and configure new hardware and software within the organization.
• Order and manage hardware requirements for employees.
• Maintain and administer Linux-based systems and software, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Perform routine updates, troubleshooting, and system performance optimization.
• Manage data center operations, ensuring all servers are running efficiently.
• Assist teams with the implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of critical company services like GitLab, Mattermost, and email systems.
• Automate, standardize and document IT processes to optimize work structures.
• Configure, maintain and enhance IT infrastructure and business-critical systems.
• Analyze current support processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in IT support or system administration roles.
• Strong experience working with Linux servers and system administration.
• Basic knowledge of IT security best practices for servers, networks, and applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of Linux-based systems (Ubuntu, Debian), with experience in configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with automation tools or scripting to optimize repetitive tasks.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI or other continuous integration tools.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communicator and interest in working in a start-up environment.
• Attention to detail in configuring and maintaining systems, understanding that small details can make a big difference in IT.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Understand the importance of securing systems and data.
• Familiarity with managing GPU systems (AMD / NVIDIA) is a plus.
